The Concerts at the Commons series continues with another live music event on Thursday, July 14th!
This performance series is in partnership with the Minneapolis Downtown Council, and will take place every Thursday from 5:00pm-6:00pm through the first week of September. All concerts are free to attend. July 14th's featured MMC member artist is Annie and the Bang Bang!
About the artist:
Fronted and founded by fight director, songwriter, and guitarist Annie Enneking, Annie and the Bang Bang are a Minneapolis rock band. They deliver spirited, potent performances, genre hopping from dreamy folkpop to swampy psychedelic grooves to a grunge-meets-late-sixties vibe, crafting musical gems that value energy, animal intelligence, poetry, and mischief. Their musical DNA consists of bands like R.E.M., PJ Harvey, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Big Star, and Blondie. Andrea Swenson says "Front woman Annie Enneking leads the group with an honest voice dedicated to telling the stories of underdogs and unsung heroes." Cyn Collins says “The band performs vibrant real rock.” Their latest offering, WALKIE TALKIE, is a highly praised love letter to music. Beach Sloth says: “…they tap into a purely physical force,” and notes the band’s “gleeful abandon, and a wild feral energy.”
