About
Tom Kehoe is a sought-after musician, known for his improvisational skills on any instrument he chooses to play. He is an accomplished solo pianist, with a MA in Composition and Piano Performance from Mills College in CA. In addition to keys, Tom plays sax, flute (bass, alto, contra-bass and piccolo), vibes, bass clarinet, melodica, steel drums, AX-synth and folk/ethnic flutes.
His teaching and performing ranges from intimate clubs to concert stages in collaborations which include jazz, world music, original compositions, theater and movement, playing and improvising in a broad range of styles. He has recorded on several discs, including Breaking Silence, Facing East, Marriage at the Panopticon, System Error, Mississippi Mother, and Six Projects. Together with Mira Kehoe, Tom has created full-length theater pieces including Circling at the Guthrie Theater Lab, and Labyrinth at SpaceSpace in Minneapolis.
